Born on July 17, 1991, in Tehran, Iran, where his father was working with the United Nations, Waqar later moved to California for his early schooling. The family eventually settled in Karachi, Pakistan, where his father became a pioneer in intercom and door-phone technology, investing millions in the tech industry and acquiring several properties in the Saddar area of Karachi. One of these properties, spanning one acre in the heart of Saddar, is now known as the Waqar Zaka Centre.
Waqar completed his schooling at BVS Parsi High School in Karachi, earned a degree in Civil Engineering from NED University, and later pursued his Master's degree in Business (MSx) from Stanford University, a prestigious one-year program for mid-career professionals.
