MD Abu Bakkar (born December 30, 1999, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, author, and tech influencer. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HostOrient, one of Bangladesh's leading BDIX-connected web hosting and cloud service providers, and the Founder and Chairman of Extent Technologies Limited, a Bangladesh-based technology infrastructure company. He is co-author of two published entrepreneurship books and runs the YouTube channel Chokkor with Bakkar. He is married to Nagera Akther, who serves as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Extent Technologies Limited and Co-Founder and CFO of HostOrient.
Early life and education
MD Abu Bakkar was born on December 30, 1999, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to a Bangladeshi family originally from Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. He completed his early education at Rajnagar Ideal High School and later attended Imperial College Moulvibazar. From an early age he developed a strong interest in technology, web infrastructure, and digital entrepreneurship. He is fluent in English, Bengali, Arabic, and Italian.
Career
Extent Technologies Limited (2016–present)
On August 17, 2016, MD Abu Bakkar co-founded Extent Technologies Limited alongside Nagera Akther in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. He serves as the company's Founder and Chairman. Extent Technologies Limited is a member of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and is registered with the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). The company is incorporated under the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) of Bangladesh and holds a Digital Business Identification (DBID) certification. It provides IT infrastructure, cloud computing, data center solutions, colocation, software development, and web development services across Bangladesh and internationally. Extent Technologies Limited is the parent company of HostOrient.
HostOrient (2019–present)
On September 21, 2019, MD Abu Bakkar founded HostOrient as a specialized hosting brand under Extent Technologies Limited, co-founded alongside Nagera Akther, who serves as Co-Founder and CFO. He serves as Founder and CEO. HostOrient is one of Bangladesh's most recognized BDIX-connected web hosting and cloud service providers, serving thousands of businesses and developers domestically and internationally. The company offers shared hosting, turbo hosting, reseller hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), dedicated servers, colocation, and business email services. HostOrient is a certified cPanel partner, CloudLinux partner, and Softaculous NOC partner.
Earlier career
Between 2017 and 2019, MD Abu Bakkar served as Managing Director of Skarbol.Tech in Dhaka, leading the management and marketing department. From 2019 to 2021, he worked with Hosterline IT Solution, gaining experience in web hosting operations. In 2021, he co-founded Hosttier, a web hosting company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also served as Information Technology Manager at Si Traders Worldwide in Malaysia from 2021 to 2023.

Beyond his business ventures, MD Abu Bakkar is a passionate cricketer, known as a right-hand batsman and spin bowler.
