François Xavier Dormoy
François Xavier Dormoy (born 28 February 1963 in Rabat - Morocco) is a French software engineer and songwriter.
Early Life
At 17, he moved to France for his final year of high school. He attended Lycée Théophile Gautier in Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) as a boarding student.
After graduating from high school, he moved to Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) to study control software and real-time embedded software at Paul Sabatier University. He graduated with a Master degree in Computer Science.
Career
François Xavier joined Verilog in Toulouse in 1991. In 1993, he moved to Grenoble to join the Verilog IMAG (Verimag) laboratory team, where he contributed to the development of the SCADE software tools Suite.
In 2000, he returned to Toulouse as a SCADE Product Manager. Over the following years, he continued to contribute to the growth of the SCADE business through various leadership and product management roles, including Vice President of Engineering, Product Manager, and Product Owner. Throughout his career, he worked within several companies that became part of successive acquisitions, including CS Communication & Systèmes, Telelogic, Esterel Technologies, ANSYS, and Synopsys.
Music
Alongside his engineering career, François Xavier has always been passionate about music. His musical influences include artists and bands such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Queen, Radiohead, Coldplay, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Dire Straits, Steely Dan, America, Chicago, Christopher Cross, Al Stewart, Kate Bush, Sia, and Pink.
Songwriting has long been one of his hobbies. In 2026, with the emergence of artificial intelligence technologies and the availability of advanced music-generation tools such as Suno, he began composing songs based on lyrics he had written.
Ocean is his first album. All songs were released in both French and English versions. In some cases, the French version was written first and later adapted into English; in others, the English version served as the original before being adapted into French.
